Ingredients:
3/4 pound fresh broccoli
1/4 cup onions, chopped
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup butter or margarine
3 cups chicken broth
1 cup milk
1 cup half and half
Method;
- Rinse broccoli and cut into spears or large pieces. In saucepan, cookbroccoli in small amount of lightly salted water until just tender. Drain.
- Let stand until cool enough to handle; then finely chop.
- In deep 3 quartsaucepan, heat butter/margarine until melted; add onion and cook until limpbut not brown. Blend if flour.
- Slowly add broth, half and half, and milk.Add Worcestershire sauce.
- Bring soup to a boil. Reduce heat. Stir incheese until melted. Serve immediately.
